I spent another hour working on this painting after taking a fresh look at this morning and being dissatisfied by the color and contrast.

Lara--Your "Oakland Corner at Night" study is stunning, and I don't think it takes anything away from your work by noting the Edward Hopper connection.. The study prompted me to visit your group showing but you weren't there. I enjoyed browsing through your sketch books and seeing your other work. You are deeply talented at drawing and your painting compositions are excellent. I went back to ProArts to try to buy the above study and was disappointed by the NFS tag. Perhaps when you finish the complete painting you would be willing to sell the study.
In any case, I wish you the greatest success--I'll try to keep track of your work.
